My Treatments

If you have pain in muscles or joints arising from injury, poor posture or long-standing chronic illness or if you simply need to reduce stress and improve your mental health, massage treatment can be hugely beneficial.

The massage treatment will primarily focus on muscles, tendons and ligaments and will integrate a variety of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation skills into the session, whilst providing a relaxing and restorative space for the client's emotional and mental well-being.

At your first appointment, a comprehensive case history will be taken, and if appropriate for the treatment, followed by a standing postural assessment (please bring shorts or comfortable underwear and a vest), range of movement tests before a treatment tailored to the issues will be undertaken.

After the treatment, I will discuss any findings and follow up treatment, as well as recommendations for next steps, which may include strengthening and stretching exercises.

Holistic Massage

Holistic massage is the nurturing process of touch and response.

The holistic approach to massage therapy can touch an individual’s whole being – physical, mental and emotional.

Each massage treatment is adapted to the client’s individual unique needs, physical characteristics and personality and the whole process is guided by principles of sensitivity, intuition, awareness, knowledge and professionalism.

Holistic massage can lead to a variety of outcomes; depending on the needs of the individual client, which can include:

  • Physical Improvements – relaxing tight muscles, improving circulation, nervous function and joint mobility. This can ease many short and long term ailments such as back pain, arthritis and insomnia.

  • Stress ReductionAs one of the main causes of disease in Western society, holistic massage can facilitate the switch between sympathetic (fight or flight) and autonomic nervous systems, allowing both body and mind valuable recuperation time.

  • Emotionally – holistic massage can provide the caring non-intrusive touch clients have often longed for; this can soothe the busy mind, reduce stress and enhance self esteem.

At a deeper level still, holistic massage can release the personal history stored in body tissues; this can lead to powerful changes in our energy and provide a vital and chemical ingredient in each persons process of growth.
